Our team has spent the past two decades providing environmental, utility vegetation management (UVM), software and sustainability services. We are fortunate to be a part of the Wright Service Corp. family, which has helped us establish a strong foundation for continued growth and success.

Through a strategic alignment of values and goals, four Wright Service Corp. entities joined and integrated into one, operating as Eocene Environmental Group. These four entities are:

  • Forestry & Utility Division

  • Environmental Division

  • Technology & Innovation Division

  • Sustainability Division

Job Summary: The Environmental Scientist III supports environmental projects through field and office-based activities, including data collection, analysis, and compliance support. This role independently applies and adapts methodologies, provides technical expertise, and contributes to the successful delivery of complex projects across a range of environmental disciplines.

Essential Job Duties:

  • Conduct fieldwork including site visits, inspections, monitoring, and data collection activities.

  • Evaluate and interpret environmental conditions, project activities, and compliance status.

  • Lead or support implementation of environmental requirements, permits, and protection measures.

  • Oversee collection, management, and validation of field data and project documentation.

  • Prepare and review reports, logs, and technical documentation to support project deliverables.

  • Provide advanced research, data analysis, and technical evaluations for environmental and regulatory projects.

  • Manage multiple projects or major project components, including scope, schedule, and deliverables.

  • Coordinate and communicate with team members, clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies.

  • Apply and adapt standard methodologies, techniques, and procedures to meet project needs.

  • Identify issues, recommend solutions, and support problem-solving on complex assignments.

  • Provide technical guidance and review work of less experienced staff.

  • Utilize field equipment, technology, and software to support data collection and reporting.

  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance at work and meetings.

  • Draft engineering plans in AutoCAD Civil 3D.

  • Assist in engineering planning, design, and construction of conservation practices.

  • Support, actively participate, and act in accordance with Wright's and Eocene Environmental Group's culture of safety and employee ownership.

  • Comply with applicable federal, state, and local laws, rules, and regulations; maintain knowledge of and follow all company policies and procedures.

Other Duties:

  • Position will require 25% - 50% travel.

Knowledge, Skills & Ability Requirements:

  • Perform fieldwork in varying conditions and operate standard field equipment.

  • Proficiency with basic data collection tools, mapping systems, and Microsoft Office applications.

  • Demonstrate strong organizational, communication, and time management skills.

  • Manage multiple tasks and adapt to changing priorities.

  • AutoCAD Civil 3D knowledge.

  • Ability to apply standard methodologies and exercise sound judgment in task execution.

  • Work both independently and as part of a team in both field and office settings.

  • Maintain attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate, high-quality work.

  • Meet physical and safety requirements of field and/or site work, including use of PPE as needed.

  • Ability to read, write and speak English sufficient to perform job duties and to interact and communicate with employees and vendors.

Education, Certification & Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in environmental science, engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).

  • Minimum 6-8 years of relevant environmental or related experience.

Other Preferred Requirements:

  • Familiarity with environmental regulations, permitting, or regulatory processes

  • Experience with technical reporting and documentation

  • Exposure to consulting, construction, infrastructure, industrial, or regulatory environments

  • Utilize GPS, mapping tools, or environmental data systems

  • Relevant certifications or training (e.g., safety, environmental, or industry-related), or ability to obtain
