Title: Marketing & Events Coordinator (Part-Time)Department:Student Involvement & LeadershipReports To:Director of Student Involvement & LeadershipPosition Summary:

The Marketing and Events Coordinator will support the Office for Student Involvement (OSIL) and Leadership by helping plan and execute OSIL's Signature events and its comprehensive marketing plan.

Essential Functions:

The individual will work with the OSIL team on the following programs and initiatives:

  • Support the planning and execution of OSIL's Signature Programs

    • Homecoming

    • Involvement Fair

    • NJIT LEADS Conference

    • Highlander Awards

    • Greek Week

    • Spring Concert

  • Support the day-to-day operations of OSIL's student office assistants.

  • Manage processes and procedures related to Recognized Student Organizations' programs

  • Social Media & Marketing

    • Assist with creating engaging social media content to promote campus events, programs, and involvement opportunities for new and returning students.

    • Capture photos and videos at campus events to highlight student experiences and showcase the vibrant NJIT community.

    • Brainstorm and contribute creative content ideas, including trending social media formats, to increase student engagement and school spirit.

    • Build relationships with student clubs and organizations by helping promote their events, initiatives, and accomplishments through social media.

    • Assist in maintaining a social media content calendar to ensure consistent and timely posts across platforms.

    • Collaborate with the Office for Student Involvement & Leadership team to support marketing campaigns, special events, and campus-wide initiatives.

    • Serve as a positive ambassador for NJIT by creating authentic, student-centered content that encourages campus involvement and fosters Highlander pride.

  • Promotion and Marketing

    • Creating more flyers and designs for university wide events and programs

    • Working with various organizations, departments and offices to help with collaborative marketing tools and resources

  • Newsletter

  • Create and develop our department's bi-weekly newsletter.

Prerequisite Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree or current enrollment in a bachelor's or master's program in Marketing, Communications, Higher Education, Business, Event Management, or a related field preferred.

  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to providing excellent customer service.

  • Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends to support campus events.

  • Familiarity with social media platforms and social media best practices.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Pursuing a Master's in Higher Education or a related field.

Compensation:
  • $20.00 per hour for 15 - 20 hours per week

  • Some weekend work is required. Hours will be adjusted as needed.

  • Start date of August 24, 2026 through May 29, 2027 with the potential to be extended.

At the university's discretion, the education and experience prerequisites may be exempted where the candidate can demonstrate to the satisfaction of the university an equivalent combination of education and experience specifically preparing the candidate for success in the position.

Range:Hourly Employees

NJIT considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, or other items.
