Summary

The Facility Lead is a part-time, entry-level leadership role at Premier Swim Academy. This position serves as the on-deck leader during assigned shifts, ensuring safe, organized, and high-quality swim lesson operations.

This is a dual-role position in which the Facility Lead will both teach swim lessons and oversee deck operations. They act as the primary decision-maker on-site when the Pool Manager is not present, supporting instructors, maintaining safety standards, and ensuring lessons run smoothly.

Essential Duties
  • Act as the on-site leader during shifts when the Pool Manager is not present
  • Oversee all wet-side operations, including lesson flow, lane usage, and deck organization
  • Ensure all lessons start and end on time and meet company standards
  • Serve as the first point of contact for on-deck issues
  • Provide real-time direction and support to Swim Instructors
  • Assign and adjust instructor responsibilities as needed during shifts
  • Communicate shift priorities and expectations at the start of each shift
  • Report instructor performance concerns and observations to the Pool Manager
  • Maintain a safety-first environment at all times
  • Ensure staff are properly positioned and actively supervising
  • Respond to and manage incidents in accordance with company protocols
  • Complete and submit incident reports the same day
  • Escalate serious incidents immediately to leadership
  • Teach assigned swim lessons while maintaining leadership responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality, engaging instruction aligned with Premier curriculum
  • Support Deck Leads and instructors through real-time coaching and guidance
  • Reinforce training standards and expectations
  • Provide feedback to support team growth and development

Requirements

Minimum

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, outdoor pool environment
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to multitask and balance instruction with operational oversight
  • Commitment to safety, professionalism, and team success
  • Reliable, punctual, and prepared for every shift
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a StarGuard Elite Lifeguard Certification
  • Current Swim Instructor Certification
  • Previous experience working in an aquatics or swim lesson environment

Preferred

  • Previous swim instruction experience
  • Experience in a leadership or senior instructor role
  • Strong understanding of swim lesson structure and progression
  • Interest in growing into a Pool Manager role

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

  • Work is performed primarily outdoors in a pool environment
  • Prolonged periods of standing, walking, bending, and swimming
  • Ability to lift, move, and assist children and equipment as needed
  • Exposure to sun, heat, humidity, and chlorinated water
  • Must be able to respond quickly in emergencies
