Engineering Technician
The Opportunity:
Use tools and equipment to assemble or fabricate parts, pieces, and products in a prototyping and manufacturing environment. Apply basic principles, theories, and concepts, and limited industry knowledge. Solve routine problems of limited scope and complexity, and refer more complex issues to higher levels. Work under direct supervision.
You Have:
  • 1+ years of experience in product development, testing, field repair, depot, shipyard, test range, industrial, manufacturing, or prototyping environments
  • Experience with computer aided design software and additive manufacturing
  • Experience applying coatings using equipment such as spray guns, rollers, and brushes
  • Ability to rapidly prototype, repair, and refine parts, fixtures, and product components using manufacturing methods such as tooling, machining, and additive manufacturing
  • Ability to obtain a Secret clearance
  • HS diploma or GED

Nice If You Have:
  • Experience supporting the defense industry
  • Experience supporting engineering, product development, and test activities in a laboratory, pilot, or manufacturing environment
  • Experience reading and interpreting blueprints when applying patterns, and directions for the mixture, use, and application of various kinds of coating materials, solvents, and precoating agents
  • Experience with soldering, ESD-sensitive components, and basic electrical assembly
  • Experience with material properties associated with paints, coatings, sealants, adhesives, potting agents, epoxies, silanes, polyurethane, acrylics, and other technologies
  • Experience with quality standards and programs such as Lean, Six Sigma, Agile, ASTM, or ISO
  • Ability to follow engineering drawings, work instructions, test procedures, and technical specifications with close attention to detail
  • Ability to prepare various surfaces for painting, including solvent washing, sanding, grit blasting, corrosion removal, masking, and activities associated with applying paints, coatings, adhesives, and sealants
  • Associate's degree

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $53,000.00 to $108,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
