Make a difference on Day One

If you like helping people and enjoy being on the road before the city wakes up, come drive with Span. We’re a small, mission-driven non-profit that connects Denton County neighbors—older adults, people with disabilities, veterans, and others—to medical appointments, groceries, and essential services. Your friendly, safe driving can change someone’s whole day.

About the Role: As a Span Driver, you’ll operate our buses, high-roof vans, and minivans to provide safe, non-emergency rides for neighbors across Denton County—to medical appointments, grocery trips, and other essential destinations. • Notify supervisors of any mechanical issues immediately following the shift or sooner if they pose a risk.
  • Maintain fuel levels and keep vehicles clean and litter-free.
  • Follow assigned schedules and communicate regularly with Dispatch about service status, breaks, vehicle issues, and passenger-related incidents.
  • Use a two-way radio professionally and in accordance with FCC regulations.
  • Comply with local, state, and federal traffic regulations.
  • Assist ambulatory and wheelchair passengers with boarding and exiting the vehicle.
  • Provide courteous service to clients, assisting with parcels or special needs as necessary.
  • Regulate heating, lighting, and ventilation for passenger comfort.
  • Collect and handle fares responsibly.
  • Participate in training and meetings as required.
