Job description

Accounts Payable/Receivable Clerk

Hours: Flexible, can work 3 days a week or 5 mornings a week, 24 - 30 hours

Payrate: $20 - $25/hr.

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented, part-time Accounts Receivable (AR) / Accounts Payable (AP) Clerk to join our accounting team. This role is responsible for processing invoices, managing payments, and maintaining accurate financial records for both incoming and outgoing transactions. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and QuickBooks and thrives in a fast-paced, detail-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities

Accounts Receivable

• Apply customer payments in a timely and accurate manner

• Process daily customer ACH payments

• Issue customer refunds as necessary

• Monitor fraud detection notifications

• Provide required documentation for chargeback disputes

• Monitor accounts for delinquency and follow up on past-due balances

• Reconcile customer accounts and resolve billing discrepancies

• Prepare AR aging reports and assist with month-end close

Accounts Payable

• Process vendor invoices and verify accuracy against purchase orders/receipts

• Code and enter invoices into the accounting system

• Prepare and process payments (checks, ACH, wire transfers)

• Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies

• Maintain organized AP files and vendor records

• Assist with 1099 preparation as needed

• Assist with preparation and filing of monthly sales tax returns

General

• Perform monthly bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records

• Assist with month-end and year-end close processes

• Communicate professionally with customers, vendors, and internal staff

• Perform other accounting/clerical duties as assigned

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in AR/AP or general accounting support

• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central strongly preferred

• Experience with QuickBooks preferred

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy

• Excellent organizational and time-management skills

• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Must be able to commute to our Palmetto, FL office
