Job description

Our probate litigation office has a part-time associate attorney position available now, and we’re looking for the right professional to join our team. You will have the opportunity to provide legal counsel to existing clients. You’ll be responsible for performing legal research, drafting documents, preparing discovery, making court appearances, and keeping client files up to date. Work will be conducted in person, in the office. This is not a remote position. If you’ve successfully completed law school, passed the state bar exam, and are seeking to practice law with plenty of room for growth, start your application today!

Compensation:

$75 hourly


Responsibilities:
  • Attend court hearings or other legal proceedings, perform legal research, and work with senior associate attorneys to provide legal advice
  • Keep files organized to make sure the most recent updates are accessible to other attorneys, paralegals, and staff
  • Review client issues on legal matters, analyze available options, and diligently work to determine the best course of action
  • Draft documents such as correspondence, pleadings, motions, briefs, affidavits, settlement agreements, and contracts to be used proceedings and contract negotiations
  • Collaborate with clients and senior associates and other staff to move cases toward resolution efficiently
  • Prepare and respond to discovery.

  • Make court appearances.


Qualifications:
  • Applicants must have successfully passed the state bar exam
  • Solid communication skills and problem-solving skills required in order to work with clients, staff members and senior attorneys
  • Completion of a Juris Doctor (J.D. degree) from an accredited law school
  • Ability to work with senior attorneys to best serve client needs and grow our client base
  • Have at least 5 years of litigation experience.

  • Trial experience preferred. At minimum, know how to prepare for trial.

  • Must be a non-smoker.
