Join Our Team:
We are searching for a Patient Service Representative for our Gateway Asthma & Allergy office located in O'Fallon, MO!
Opportunity:
  • Part-time opening
  • Monday & Wednesday, 8:30 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. and Thursday, 7:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. This position also shares in rotating coverage of a Saturday morning shift, typically from 7:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.
  • No nights or holidays
  • Outpatient clinical practice
  • This position is not benefit eligible.

Day-to-Day:
  • Perform patient check-in/check-out
  • Schedule patient appointments
  • Collect co-payments
  • Verify insurance
  • Register patients/update patient demographics
  • Answer the telephone
  • Balance monies at day end
  • May be required to enter physician-related charges into the computer

Who we are seeking (preferred):
  • The Patient Service Representative is highly visible in their interactions with patients and must therefore project a positive office image at all times including smiling, greeting patients with enthusiasm, and maintaining an upbeat, positive attitude in all interactions with patients and coworkers.
  • Formal training which will probably be indicated by a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1 or more years of experience working in a healthcare setting.
  • Previous medical billing experience.
  • Medical coding familiarity.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Knowledge of the different types of health insurance plans; i.e. HMO's, PPO's, etc.
  • PC/Windows proficiency.
  • Willingness to assign high priority to patient comfort and satisfaction.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and to work compatibly with physicians, coworkers, and employees in other departments.
