POSITION EXPECTATION

Position Summary  

The Dispatcher coordinates fleet movement, assists with the Retail Store deliveries/clean outs, and coordinates with the Donation Department for ADC transfers to maximize the efficiency and effectiveness of the transportation operation.

Responsibilities

  • Completes all related paperwork and reports in an accurate and timely manner. 
  • Utilizes personnel, fiscal, and transportation resources based on operations requirements. 
  • Schedules store deliveries and clean-outs, site transfers, commercial pickups, and all other movements of Goodwill trucks and trailers.  
  • Ensures the fleet is utilized with minimal mileage and gasoline charges.  
  • Maintains required reports to document movement of fleet and product transfers.  
  • Provides excellent internal and external customer service and displays a “can do” attitude. 
  • Provides feedback for driver evaluations.  
  • Assists in the scheduling of personnel by providing feedback on the anticipated workload.  
  • Provides direction for special transportation projects.  
  • Plans routes with efficiency. 
  • Responds and completes all pickup/transfer requests via email.  
  • Assists in any other projects or tasks as determined by management.

Environmental Factors

  • Ninety-five precent of duties will be performed in an office environment with regulated temperatures.
  • Five percent of duties will be conducted at the Retail Stores, Clearance Center, Warehouse, or other assigned Goodwill locations where no cooling or heating will be available. Exposure to extreme heat, cold, dust and humidity may be a possibility.

Physical Factors

  • Must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull a minimum of 25 pounds.
  • Must be able to tolerate prolonged standing, walking, reaching, stooping, lifting, pulling, bending, and kneeling when dealing with repairs.

Education, Experience, and Requirements

Required

  • High School Diploma or equivalent completion.  
  • Proven reliability and meeting of attendance expectations.
  • Must possess strong interpersonal skills with excellent communication skills.

Preferred
