Job Summary:

As aDirect Support Professional (DSP),you will provide hands-on care and assistance to individuals in their daily lives. Your role will include helping them develop independent living skills, ensuring community inclusion, and supporting their overall well-being.


Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct care services tailored to the individuals needs.
  • Assist withActivities of Daily Living (ADLs), including personal hygiene, dressing, and grooming.
  • Support individuals inmeal preparationand ensure dietary needs are met.
  • Promoteindependent living skillssuch as budgeting, grocery shopping, and household chores.
  • Encourage and facilitatecommunity inclusion, social skills, and recreational activities.
  • Implementindividualized goals and support plansin a person-centered environment.
  • Ensure thehealth and safetyof all individuals under your care.
  • Identify, document, and report anyincidents, allegations of abuse, or concernsas required.
  • Administermedications accurately(upon successful completion of an approved AMAP course).
  • Communicate effectively withstaff, management, and familiesto ensure coordinated care.


Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • At least 1 year of experiencein caregiving, healthcare, or disability support
    preferred (college credits may be substituted for experience).
  • Must be reliable, patient, and compassionate.
  • Ability to follow care plans and safety procedures.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to pass background checks and required certifications.
