Job description

The Role

ITHAKA is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Digital Marketing Associate to provide part-time fixed-term (temporary) coverage and operational continuity for our digital marketing function. The associate will support ITHAKA's web and digital operations through website maintenance and quality assurance, reporting production, dashboard maintenance, campaign tracking support, paid advertising coordination, and project documentation.

Reporting to the Sr. Director, Channel Marketing, the associate will receive prioritized assignments from the project manager and work with subject matter experts across web, technology, data analytics, design, content marketing, and paid media for review and approvals. This fixed-term (temporary) role does not own digital strategy, budget allocation, agency or consultant management, or final publishing and measurement decisions; those responsibilities remain with designated ITHAKA leaders and reviewers. Responsibilities will vary based on active campaigns, website needs, and reporting deadlines; the associate is not expected to perform every workstream listed below every week.

This fixed-term (temporary) assignment is anticipated to begin in September 2026 and continue through April/May 2027.

ITHAKA has physical offices in New York City and Ann Arbor, Michigan, with employees distributed across the continental United States. At this time, we're not considering candidates who reside outside of the continental U.S.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct website quality assurance using established checklists, including reviewing links, forms, confirmation states, thank you pages, metadata, calls to action, formatting, mobile behavior, basic accessibility requirements, and published updates; document results and follow-up issues.
  • Make pre-approved, low-risk CMS updates after training, including updating existing content modules, replacing links or assets, verifying redirects, checking previews, verifying redirects, and preparing or publishing changes according to the established approval process.
  • Support implementation and validation of pre-approved, well-scoped marketing site backlog items; escalate requests involving strategy, information architecture, custom development, or significant content changes.
  • Support SEO and site health monitoring by running Semrush reports, logging broken links or media, documenting metadata and crawl/indexation issues, maintaining the site health backlog, and escalating high-priority technical or content issues.
  • Produce recurring reports by pulling data from approved sources, updating source sheets, assembling charts and screenshots, documenting caveats, and populating reporting deck templates.
  • Maintain and quality-check existing dashboards and reporting tools, including filters, date ranges, labels, calculations, and source links; assist with small, clearly scoped dashboard builds using established requirements or templates.
  • Create and quality-check UTM links and campaign naming; verify landing page links, forms, thank you page behavior, and attribution paths; document discrepancies for the appropriate analytics or tracking owner.
  • Support paid advertising operations by maintaining campaign trackers and Asana tasks, collecting weekly status information, quality-checking URLs and UTMs, organizing briefs and creative links, and documenting launch readiness and campaign status.
  • Depending on priorities and available capacity, the Associate may also support approved web testing or other clearly scoped digital projects through QA, status tracking, observation logs, and documentation.
  • Maintain project hygiene across active web, reporting, paid, tracking, and dashboard workstreams by keeping owners, statuses, links, standard operating procedures, handoff notes, and return notes current.
  • Follow established access, data handling, publishing, and approval processes, and escalate questions, discrepancies, or higher-risk changes to the designated reviewer or decision-maker.
Experience and Skills
  • One or more years of experience in digital marketing, marketing operations, web production, analytics support, or a related role; relevant internship or project experience may be considered.
  • Strong attention to detail and demonstrated ability to quality-check digital content, links, forms, naming conventions, dates, filters, and source data.
  • Experience working in content management systems and familiarity with website publishing workflows, page previews, redirects, metadata, and basic accessibility practices.
  • Experience with WordPress or a comparable CMS is strongly preferred.
  • Working knowledge of campaign tracking concepts, including UTM parameters, naming conventions, landing pages, forms, and attribution paths.
  • Comfort working with spreadsheets and reporting data; familiarity with GA4, Salesforce, Looker, Tableau, Semrush, and paid advertising platforms, or comparable tools, is preferred.
  • Experience using Asana or similar project management platform and maintaining clear task statuses, documentation, links, and handoff notes.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage recurring tasks and increased workloads during reporting and launch periods.
  • Clear written communication skills and sound judgment about when to complete a defined task independently and when to escalate an issue for review.
  • Demonstrated ability to work from established briefs, checklists, templates, naming conventions, and standard operating procedures.
  • A collaborative, service-oriented approach and willingness to learn ITHAKA's systems, standards, and processes.
  • Availability for 15-20 hours per week, with flexibility to increase to approximately 20-25 hours per week during identified peak periods.
Compensation

At ITHAKA, we believe in openness and equity. Part of living those values is our commitment to clarity about salary ranges, so candidates know what to expect. The pay range for this fixed-term (temporary) position is $35.00 - $40.00 per hour depending on experience. The position is expected to work 15-20 hours per week, with occasional increases to approximately 20-25 hours during identified reporting or campaign-launch periods.
