Description
This is an On Call (as needed) position, the employee may be called upon at any time to provide supervision to juveniles under the jurisdiction of the court or those who court official's find are not able to be returned to their parents/guardian's home at the present time. Follow the direction of a Family Division referee and/or caseworker to transport juveniles as required by the court, conduct holdovers with juveniles at the designated holdover site and in home detention services with juveniles. Adhere to the policy and procedures established in the Regional Detention Support Services (RDSS) Handbook from the State of Michigan's Department of Health and Human Services. Immediately report any emergencies regarding the youth to the Juvenile Court on call worker and probation officer after regular work hours.
Position Requirements
Education:
  • A high school diploma is preferred.

Experience:
  • Prior experience working with at-risk youth and their families is preferred.
  • A valid driver's license is required.
  • Must be able to pass a criminal history check and a DHHS Central Registry check.
