Job description

The Summer Camp Group Supervisor is responsible for overseeing a group of children and staff, ensuring a safe, structured, and enriching camp experience. This role includes leadership, supervision, and compliance with Department of Human Services (DHS) regulations, as well as direct responsibility for program quality and child safety.

Positions available:

  • Full- and Part-time positions available between 7:00am-5:30pm.
  • Seasonal or permanent positions available.
  • Locations include Asbury CDC (3814 Asbury Road) and Saint George School (1612 Bryant Street).

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Serve as Lead Teacher to plan, implement, and oversee daily camp programming for assigned group.
  • Provide direct supervision of children and assistant staff at all times.
  • Ensure adherence to DHS regulations, licensing standards, and safety protocols.
  • Lead behavior management and conflict resolution using approved methods.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned group (staff, families, administration).
  • Conduct attendance tracking and ensure accurate documentation.
  • Mentor and support Assistant Teachers and junior staff.

Qualifications/ Requirements:

  • Associate or bachelor's degree in education, human services or a related field.
  • Prior experience working with children in a supervisory or leadership role.
  • Ability to manage groups and respond to emergencies effectively.
  • Minimum age requirement 18+.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to stand for long periods throughout the workday with intermittent periods of sitting, walking, and occasional bending, twisting, stooping, reaching and grasping as necessary to carry out essential job duties.
  • Dexterity requirements range from coordinated movements of fingers and hands to simple movements of feet, legs, and torso as necessary to carry out essential job duties.
  • Lifting and carrying of children and/or objects up to 50 pounds
