Job description

THE COMPANY: Meadowbrook Village Christian Retirement Community is a non-profit organization in Escondido that opened in 2009. We are licensed as a Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) and offer independent, assisted living, memory care, and skilled nursing services. We seek to help our residents age in place as we strive toward our mission to "honor God by serving others with love and compassion."

SHIFT AVAILABILITY: Part-time, 16-24 hours per week. Regular shifts are from midnight to 8:00 am and from 5:00 pm to midnight.  For our current opening, candidates must be able to work at least 1 overnight (midnight to 8am) shift. Other shift options to be discussed in interview.

JOB DESCRIPTION: We are seeking a friendly and responsible individual to be an addition to our security/night desk team. Our security guards are responsible both for standard security tasks and for providing customer service to our residents.

As a security guard, your tasks would include the following:

  • ensuring the proper locking & unlocking of gates and doors as directed
  • delivering newspapers/flyers/notices/packages
  • coordinating with staff caregivers in case of medical incidents or emergencies
  • making security rounds throughout the community and along perimeter
  • answering calls to the nighttime front desk phone
  • assisting residents’ family members during after-hours visits
  • communicating professionally and efficiently to police or emergency services
  • following company policies and procedures for reporting incidents and/or hazards
  • various other security & customer service tasks as needed

QUALIFICATIONS: Candidates must...

  • be at least 18 years old
  • be able to pass a criminal background check and have a valid driver's license
  • demonstrate professionalism with our residents, guests, and co-workers
  • have a genuine caring attitude toward seniors
  • show good decision-making skills and responsibility while working independently
