Full job description

  • Cleans, mops, scrubs or sweeps floors, stairways and halls.
  • Washes walls, ceilings, doors, and trim by hand or with washing equipment.
  • Cleans, washes dusts or polishes hardware, brass, furniture, mirrors, lighting fixtures, windows, window sills, vents, radiators, and exteriors of cabinets and equipment.
  • Cleans and maintains locker rooms, shower, toilet, and washrooms in a clean and orderly condition; replenishes soap, towels, and tissue into containers.
  • Empties waste paper baskets and trash containers; replaces liners; checks and re-empties waste basket periodically.
  • Cleans patient’s rooms thoroughly; performs duties such as mopping floors, washing furniture, scrubbing plastic cushions and bed frames, making beds, changing linens as needed, cleaning and washing bathroom fixtures, dusting overhead and bed lamps, and perform other general cleaning work.
  • Operates vacuum suction machines to clean flooded floor areas; vacuuming and shampooing rugs, performs manual work such as lifting or moving furniture and other heavy articles.
  • Notes and reports any repairs needed to supervisor, such as broken or cracked window panes, leaky faucets or toilets, loose tile, broken or dirty venetian blinds, burned out light bulbs, and equipment not operating properly.
  • Restock supplies to accomplish duties; pick up bottles, papers, and magazines to keep area in neat, orderly, and safe condition.
  • Cleans up and stores supplies and equipment in designated area after completion of the work.
  • Prevent unnecessary waste, loss of time, and damage to patient’s belongings.
  • Organize and plan work in order to get area completed within an eight-hour day.
  • Must adhere to a close standard of cleanliness at all times have the ability to perform tasks with due consideration for patients and by the Nursing department.
  • Protects confidential data or information about patients.
  • Assist with room moves.
  • All other duties as assigned by supervisor.
