Job description

We are seeking a Staff Assistant for the Purchasing Department. Under the supervision of the Director of Purchasing, this position will perform a wide range of administrative and record‑keeping tasks related to the procurement of goods and services.

This is an hourly, part-time position.

Example of Duties:

  • Act as a liaison between the Director of Purchasing and other College departments.
  • Perform troubleshooting, research, and resolve both internal and external inquiries.
  • Maintain and act as administrator for various online procurement platforms.
  • Perform data analysis, data processing, as well as other clerical and routine duties.
  • Prepare journal entries and external correspondence.
  • Maintains records and files, to include electronic databases.
  • Assist in ensuring that purchases are in compliance with applicable statues, regulations and policies.
  • Develop and maintain effective business relationships with internal clients.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Associates or higher degree preferred.
  • One to two (1-2) years of related experience preferred.
  • Excellent math and communication skills.
  • Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and ERP systems.
  • Able to work well with staff and students in a cooperative and professional manner.

The completion of a background check will be required for the selected candidate.

Compensation: Compensation is determined by a variety of criteria, including but not limited to, previous relevant experience, education level, and certifications. The starting hourly pay for this position is $20.
