Job description

Overview
We are seeking a Part-time Material Handler (Weekend Shift: Saturday and Sunday Only 6am - 4:30pm) at Garmin's U.S. headquarters in the Greater Kansas City area. In this role, you will be responsible for loading, unloading, inputting data, processing shipping, consumer and retail returns, tracking orders and other inventory movement, reboxing units for return to stock, and reworking/repairing product with accuracy while maintaining a safe and clean warehouse work environment.
Essential Functions
  • Ability to flex within warehouse functions including Raw Materials, Reverse Logistics and Finished Goods
  • May be responsible for accuracy of inventory, transactions, and material movement
  • May pull/audit material as required for KANBAN, shop order, move order or sales order requirements
  • May issue/transact material requested through material withdrawal forms
  • May receive, transact, and sort inbound material
  • May do replenishment of material into primary picking locations
  • May ensure First in/First Out (FIFO) and Last in/First Out (LIFO) policies are adhered to as defined in departmental procedures
  • May follow Electronic Static Discharge (ESD) guidelines for static sensitive materials if applicable
  • May pack materials to ensure adequate delivery to internal/external customers
  • May be responsible to perform cycle counts as required
  • May need the ability to operate RF device to transact and move material
  • Must meet quality/productivity metrics
  • Perform housekeeping tasks to maintain a safe work environment
  • Must meet all safety standards/policies
  • Ability to accept responsibility for work assignments and job duties and to be held accountable for their successful completion
  • Ability to work variable and flexible hours including overtime
  • Compliance with Garmin's Attendance Policy
  • Ability to operate one or two pieces of powered industrial equipment safely/efficiently such as a dock stocker or powered pallet jack depending on departmental responsibilities
  • Must possess the ability to bend, twist and lift up to 55 pounds while using safe lifting techniques, standing for an entire shift, and walking long distances throughout the facility
  • Must possess the ability to visually distinguish minor cosmetic imperfections and defects on Garmin products
  • Cleanliness zone area requirements: This position requires Garmin provided personal protective equipment including SD shoes (Static Dissipative Footwear) to be always worn for an entire shift to minimize the risk of electrostatic discharge (ESD) and meet specified standards

Basic Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Must possess the ability to bend, twist and lift up to 55 pounds while using safe lifting techniques, standing for an entire shift, and walking long distances throughout the facility
  • Ability to use RF Scanner
  • Demonstrated computer proficiency

Desired Qualifications
  • Previous warehouse or related experience
  • Database experience including Microsoft Excel and Access
  • Previous Oracle Experience
