The Opportunity:
Do you love diving into data and turning it into meaningful insights? Do you want to use your analytical mindset, grow your technical skills, and develop solutions to problems? As a data analyst at Booz Allen, you can help turn complex data sets into useful information to solve global challenges.
On our team, you'll use your analytical expertise and communication skills to create real-world impact. You will be working with a multi-disciplinary team in a fast-paced environment directly assisting the Department of Defense in the data and analytics of large acquisition programs. You'll work closely with clients to understand the requirements behind each analysis effort, dig into data and documentation, and uncover insights to inform decision-making. You'll run analytical tools, clean and transform data, conduct research, draft, review, and edit analytical reports, and effectively communicate results to the client. You'll guide teammates, help lead analytical processes, and develop tools and algorithms. Ultimately, you'll play a pivotal role in analytics, product development, and client interactions.
What You'll Work On:
  • Use your technical knowledge and analytical mindset to support client and stakeholder decision-making.
  • Communicate insights and recommendations by developing and delivering presentations and technical reports to the client.
  • Research, develop, and test data methodologies and generate cross-functional data solutions.
  • Establish quantitative and qualitative metrics and key performance indicators to drive technical outcomes.
  • Create data visualizations in a variety of formats including graphs, tables, dashboards and PowerPoint presentations.

You Have:
  • 2+ years of experience with data exploration, data cleaning, data analysis, data visualization, or data mining
  • 2+ years of experience communicating analysis both in written and verbal form
  • Experience writing analytical and technical reports and developing data visualizations to deliver key insights
  • Experience with a scripting language such as SQL, R, or Python to extract data and perform analytics and visualizations
  • Experience communicating and presenting analyses
  • Knowledge of good data principles, including data cleaning, preprocessing, and wrangling
  • Ability to clearly convey complex data insights to non-technical stakeholders and provide writing samples
  • Ability to maintain accuracy while dealing with large data sets with high attention to detail and quality
  • Ability to obtain a Secret clearance
  • Bachelor's degree

  • Experience with data science concepts such as statistics, machine learning, and experimental design
  • Experience with software or application development

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $77,500.00 to $176,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
