Essential Job Duties
The Extension Specialist - provides the technical expertise needed to configure, maintain, and govern the Center's data management system, while delivering high-quality reporting and analytics to support the Center's fundraising strategies and to support and cultivate new relationships and partnerships within the clean energy industry.
The position would strengthen development efforts within the clean energy community, support the Center's organizational expansion within the clean energy industry and enhance the Center's ability to demonstrate value and advance clean energy and sustainability initiatives at the state, regional, and national levels. It would provide high-impact technical assistance, training, and program leadership focused on quality and management systems. The role blends technical consulting, facilitation, project management, and service development to support manufacturers and organizations across North Carolina.
Core Competencies & Responsibilities
Data Management
Use data management tools and systems to support NCCETC's relationship-building, outreach, and fundraising efforts. This role is responsible for organizing and analyzing stakeholder, partner, and donor data to improve engagement strategies, track outreach activities, and inform development initiatives. Accurate data stewardship will help strengthen external relationships, expand program reach, and support sustainable funding for NCCleanTech's mission.
Data Analysis & Impact Reporting
Apply data analysis and reporting practices to measure, evaluate, and communicate NCCleanTech's program impact. This role analyzes performance metrics, outcomes, and trends to support strategic decision-making, grant reporting, and stakeholder communications. Clear, accurate impact reporting helps demonstrate program effectiveness, support fundraising efforts, and advance NCCETC mission. Provide support for customer relationship management, services and initiatives. Maintain awareness of NCCETC offerings, industry trends, and best practices to align relationship management services with client and statewide needs. Contribute to service development and collaboration across NCCETC teams to strengthen program impact.
Training and Documentation
Provide training and documentation on customer relationship management (CRM) systems to support NCCleanTech's relationship-building, industry outreach, and fundraising efforts. This role develops clear, user-friendly guidance that helps staff effectively track engagements, manage partner and donor relationships, and apply consistent data practices. Strong CRM training strengthens collaboration, improves outreach effectiveness, and supports sustainable fundraising aligned with NCCleanTech's mission.
Relationship Management
Have a strong focus on relationship management, supporting fundraising and data management initiatives. This role will be training staff on best practices on data management to ensure consistent data entry, accuracy, and effective use of customer information, while fostering collaboration across teams. This position will be building and maintaining strong internal and external relationships, serving as a trusted point of contact between technical teams, leadership, and partners to drive engagement, transparency, and long-term success.

Other Responsibilities
In addition to the core responsibilities of this role, there will be occasional opportunities to take on additional duties:
  • Assist Communication team with strategic direction in relation to NCCETC data management initiatives
  • Assist with project management best practices and establish procedures and processes for data and relationship management.

Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree with relevant professional experience.
