Position Summary
Puget Sound Steel is seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Production Assistant to support daily office, accounting, shipping, and operational functions. This position serves as a key link between customers, vendors, and operations personnel by helping coordinate documentation, freight activities, and administrative processes that support the efficient delivery of steel products.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Answer and direct incoming phone calls and assist with general office administration.
- Greet customers, vendors, and visitors in the office.
- Maintain organized records, files, and documentation.
- Coordinate production tagging with the fabrication shop.
- Prepare and process shipping documentation, including bills of lading and delivery paperwork.
- Communicate delivery updates and order status information as needed.
- Maintain accurate records and assist with data entry and document management.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Basic understanding of accounting principles and office procedures.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States.
Employment Requirements
- Successful completion of a pre-employment background check and drug screening.
- Desired hours from 7:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
