WHAT YOUWILL BE DOING:
An employee in this position assists with and leads teenrecreation programs, social events, and trips. Thisposition assists with program planning, implementation, andparticipant engagement. Ages for these teen programs range from 11-17.
This position reports to the Recreation Program Supervisor at theJohn M. Brown Community Center. This position will assist withsupervising teen participants. This position will average 25 hoursa month - hours may vary depending on season.
A SAMPLEOF THE ESSENTIALS:
- Leads and assists with recreational programs, trips and social events designed for teens.
- Assists the Recreation Program Supervisor in program planning, implementation, marketing and evaluation.
- Assists in the coordination of recreational trips, including providing on-site support to ensure the safety and satisfaction of participants.
- Actively participates in activities alongside participants, fostering a fun, welcoming, and engaging environment.
- Organizes and executes evening programs, weekend events, and daytrips.
- Assists with participant check-in/check-out proceduresand maintains attendance records.
- Assists in tracking participation trends and evaluating programsuccess.
- Provides excellent customer service to participants, parents, community members, contractors, and vendors.
- Ensures program rules and safety procedures are followed
- Performs related duties as required.
WHATYOU'LL NEED:
Graduation from high school and must be 18 years of age andavailable to work year-round.

- Some knowledge of planning, implementing, and evaluating programs and events.
- Ability to supervise and positively engage teens in a recreational setting.
- Ability to follow directions and enforce rules and expectations.
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
- Ability to drive a 14-passenger bus up to 100 miles each direction.
- Possess good customer service skills.
- Considerable knowledge of office practices and procedures, grammar, and punctuation.
- Considerable knowledge of word processing, database maintenance, spreadsheet data entry, and other specific information technology applications.
- Skill in customer service, including problem-solving and conflict resolution.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with participants, parents, staff, contractors, and the public.
