ABOUT US

Schaumburg Park District is an award-winning parks and recreation agency that provides its 80,000 residents with a wide variety of recreational programs, classes, and events as well as facilities, parks and open spaces! ย Schaumburg Park District has multiple dance studios that feature sprung wood floors, mirrors and ballet barres to accommodate dancers of all skill levels and abilities!


JOB SUMMARY

As an acro dance instructor, you will teach multiple skill levels for dancers aged 4-13 years. Class size ranges by age of dancer from 4-15 students per class. Our dance instructors follow curriculum to teach age-appropriate skills and create recital choreography. Our dance instructors follow our program policies including rescheduling and/or make-up classes and prepare students for an annual recital.


QUALIFICATIONS

The best applicants should be skilled in ballet and acrobatics. Prior teaching experience and a bachelorโ€™s degree and/or teaching certificate highly desirable. Applicants should have knowledge of safety and spotting techniques to prevent injuries.ย  Our dance instructors must be positive, friendly, encouraging, supportive, effective communicators, effective teachers, reliable, punctual and organized.

SCHEDULING & PAY

This is a part-time position starting in September. The typical work schedule would be Thursday evenings from 4:15-7:00pm. The hiring pay range is $16.00/hour to $20.00/hour DOQ (depending on qualifications).
