Allen Hospital, Waterloo, IA

Part-time, Nights

7p-7a

Shift Differentials: 

$5.00/hour from 3p-11p, $7.50/hour from 11p-7a, additional $7.50/hour on weekends

The MHU is a 21-bed adult inpatient unit accepting a wide range of diagnoses from depression and anxiety to schizophrenia and behavioral disturbances. All of our rooms are private and monitored 24/7 by camera. We follow a multidisciplinary team approach for each patient. The care team includes: psychiatrist, ARNP, RN, social work/mental health counselors, discharge navigator, occupational therapy services, patient care techs and safety techs.

  • To assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care at Registered Nurse or LPN skill level, in collaboration with the Medical Plan of Care, with a minimum of assistance.
  • To function as primary care leader, associate, or charge nurse so that optimum quality of patient care is maintained according to the philosophy and objectives of Allen Hospital.
  • To exercise accountability responsibility, authority, autonomy, and act as a role model and resource person with expanded theory and expertise

  • Current RN or LPN license in the state of Iowa or meets criteria established by Iowa Board of Nursing.
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program
  • Ability to plan, assess, implement, and evaluate the nursing care delivered to a group of patients.
  • Ability to assume responsibility for personal and professional growth. Able to meet the physical demands on file in the Human Resources Department.
