Lakeside Health & Rehab – Richmond, VA

Schedule: Every other weekend plus one weekday (hours may vary)

At Lakeside Health & Rehab, we’re dedicated to providing exceptional care and comfort to our residents — and that includes delicious, nutritious meals prepared with care. We are currently seeking a Part-Time Cook to join our Dietary team.

This role may also include some dietary aide duties, assisting with meal service and kitchen operations as needed. If you enjoy cooking and want to be part of a team that truly makes a difference, we’d love to meet you!

Responsibilities
  • Prepare and cook meals according to menus, recipes, and dietary guidelines

  • Ensure meals are served on time, at proper temperatures, and with appropriate presentation

  • Follow portion control standards and safe food-handling practices

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, equipment, and work areas in compliance with health and safety standards

  • Assist with food preparation, tray assembly, meal service, and cleanup as needed

  • Support inventory management, food storage, and supply rotation

  • Work collaboratively with the Dietary Manager and team to meet resident needs and preferences

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred

  • Prior experience as a cook in healthcare, hospitality, or restaurant settings preferred

  • Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and infection control procedures required

  • Ability to read and follow recipes and dietary instructions

  • Dependable, team-oriented, and able to work independently when needed

  • Willingness to assist with dietary aide duties as required
