Job description

Voted one of the Top 5 Hotels in Charleston by the readers of Travel and Leisure Magazine, the John Rutledge House Inn is seeking a part-time employee for the Front Desk Concierge position. As the first employee the guest encounters, it is the concierge's responsibility to be gracious and efficient while upholding Charming Inn's reputation for hospitality, service, and luxury.

Position Hours:  3pm - 11pm (2 to 3 shifts per week)

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Answer all incoming phone calls and assist the caller with their request or redirect the call.
  • Book room reservations with accurate description of room type and correct quote of rate and included amenities.
  • Assist guests with recommendations for area restaurants and attractions and secure tickets and reservations when requested.
  • Perform check in and check out procedure with guests.
  • Collaborate with bell staff and housekeeping to provide a seamless guest experience.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Ideal candidate will be outgoing and friendly with a keen eye for detail and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must have flexible availability, including weekends and holidays.
  • Front desk/concierge experience required – luxury boutique hotel experience preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must have working knowledge of Windows computing and multi-line phone systems.
  • Must be available from 3pm - 11pm
