About the Long Center

Position Summary
Box Office Representatives provide the highest level of customer service while selling and processing ticket orders and refunds using the Long Center's ticketing system, Tessitura. This role supports walk-up and phone sales and assists with internet ticket sales as needed. On performance dates, Box Office Representatives may assist patrons with seating issues, handle complaints, and distribute will-call tickets.
We are looking for flexible, reliable, computer savvy part-time box office representatives to join our team, with weekday, daytime, evening, weekend, and holiday hours available. The pay rate for this position is $16/hour.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions of this role include:
  • Confidently providing direct sales assistance to patrons by phone and in-person.
  • Processing payments and refunds for tickets, providing confirmation of transactions.
  • Answering questions concerning pricing, schedules, seating, policies, and providing detailed information concerning ticketed events by becoming an expert on the details of upcoming shows, programs, and events occurring at the Long Center and through our ticketing partners.
  • Continuously meeting and exceeding customer, client, and guest services expectations.
  • Resolving customer complaints in accordance with Long Center policies and guidelines.
  • Maintaining daily reconciliation reports and other Box Office reporting as needed.
  • Completing data entry, inbound and outbound calls, and clerical work as assigned while following Long Center policies and guidelines.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
  • One year of related customer service/ticketing experience.
  • Basic computer and phone skills required, Tessitura or previous Box Office experience is a plus!
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions and troubleshoot problems involving several variables in a variety of situations.
  • Bilingual (Spanish and English) is a plus!
