We have an opportunity for a Part-Time Radiology Technologist in our OrthoCarolina Ballantyne OUC location.
The Radiology Technologist will provide diagnostic quality radiographs for physicians and/or physician assistants while protecting employees and patients from unnecessary radiation and usage of appropriate protection standards.
Essential Functions:
  • Demonstrates competency in positioning of all radiological procedures as prescribed by departmental policy.

  • Communicates with patients to explain procedures, obtain clinical history, confirm acknowledgment of patients' understanding and address any questions or concerns.

  • Positions patients and selects exposure factors for various radiologic examinations and provides patient with radiation protection and safety in accordance with prescribed methods.

  • Logs radiological procedures completed, processes charges and related paperwork using computer equipment as directed.

  • Maintains cleanliness of examination rooms and stocks necessary medical and/or radiological supplies in the department. Compliance with all OrthoCarolina policy and procedures.

  • Assists with the transportation of patients between the examination module(s) and the Radiology department. Assist with patient flow in the examination module(s) as directed by a supervisor.

Skills and Abilities:
  • Ability to operate various manufacturer types of Radiology suite equipment, (i.e. Siemens/GE/Philips).

  • Skill in proficient use of various manufacturer types of Digital Radiology (DR) and Computer Radiology (CR) reader systems.

  • Skill in identifying equipment problems and correcting or notifying supervisor.

  • Skill in positioning patients properly and performing quality diagnostic radiographs.

  • Observes safety and security procedures.

Qualifications:
  • Graduate of a Radiologic Technologist program approved by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists and the American Medical Association.

  • Minimum of one year experience as an x-ray tech with an orthopedic background.

  • Professional license or certification requirements:

  • Registered Radiology Tech by American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (AART) or ARRT registry eligible.

  • Current CPR certification recommended.
