Help Jax make every visitor feel welcome in your role as a Cashier at our Jax Outdoor Gear location in North Fort Collins! Your engagement and enthusiasm sets the tone for our customers as you answer questions and complete sales. Share your interests by taking time to learn about our products through product training, pro-deals, and trying out items by using your employee discount.
Jax is a family-owned business committed to providing exceptional customer service and high-quality products. We pride ourselves on being an organization that drives support for local businesses and stays conservation-minded. Jax is looking for Cashier candidates who have the skills to quickly learn the required computer systems and who have the knack of making others feel comfortable.
Our Cashiers are responsible for actively greeting customers, providing top notch customer service, and accurately processing transactions.
Additional responsibilities include:
  • Being the initial point of contact for anyone who walks through the door
  • Understanding current promotions and coupons
  • Efficiently and accurately completing transactions
  • Maintaining a clean and organized work area and store entry
  • Presenting a professional appearance and demeanor
  • Finding tasks to improve the customer experience
  • Participating in annual inventory responsibilities
  • And assisting other departments when needed

The physical demands of the role include standing throughout the work shift and being able to shift and move products, some of which can be bulky or heavy.
Our ideal candidate has prior customer service experience, and is willing to step up and pitch-in where needed. Additional knowledge, skills or abilities include:
  • Sustaining a level of enthusiasm and engagement through a work shift
  • Comfortable and clear communication skills
  • Quickly learning computer point of sale (POS) system requirements
  • Prior cashiering experience is preferred
  • Taking initiative to find tasks that improve the look and feel of the work environment
  • Situational awareness to help stay alert to potential safety concerns
  • Patience and understanding when encountering a problem
  • Working well with others
  • Attention to detail

Our Cashiers are typically the first and last JAX representative our customers interact with, so we are looking for stellar candidates who make customers feel welcome and appreciated.
Schedule Requirements:
  • MUST be available MORNINGS and at least one weekend day
  • Flexible shifts available but depend upon the needs of the store

Pay Range: Starting at $15.16 to $16.25 hourly
