FanshaweCollege isseekinginterestedandqualifiedprofessionals to teachdidactic and/or clinical coursesinthe DentalHygiene (DHY) programintheSchool ofHealth Sciences.

Why This Role Is Important

Reporting to the Associate Dean, part-time Professors at Fanshawe College are responsible for providing academic leadership and for developing an effective learning environment for students. Availability for in-person on campus delivery is required for most courses, and successful candidates will be required to perform work within Ontario.

We require qualified faculty to teach across the following area:

  • DentalHygiene (DHY) program

    Qualifications to teachclinicalcourses:

    • Minimum 5 years' recent and relevant clinical experience

    • Dental Hygienists must be a graduate of an accredited Dental Hygiene programand registered with the College of Dental Hygienists of Ontario with a general orspecialtycertificate of registration

    • Post-secondary teaching or training experience ispreferred

    Qualifications to teachdidacticcourses:

    • Dental Hygienists must be a graduate of an accredited Dental Hygiene programand registered with the College of Dental Hygienists of Ontario with a general or specialty certificate of registration

    • Must have aBaccalaureate degree (or in progress) in a related field

    • Preference will be given to candidates with aMaster'sdegree in a related discipline; consideration will be given to applicants currently enrolled in aMaster'sprogram

    • An equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered; preference will be given to applicants meeting the education requirements

    • Post-secondary teaching or training experience isrequiredwith the preferred candidate havingcurriculum design and experience with inter-professional education initiatives

    • Combination of excellent leadership and teaching skills with a strong commitment to academic excellence and student success

    • Excellent communicator

    • Strong interpersonal skills

    • Ability to relate effectively to a wide variety of learners

    • Strong technical/computer skills and familiarity with educational technologies arerequired

    • Proven ability to work in a team environment

    • Related industry work experience,previouscollege teaching experience and knowledge of curriculum design and student evaluations are assets
