Job description

Hourly Pay Range:

$18.84 - $27.32 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

Position Highlights:

  • Position: Rehabilitation Technician - Per Diem

  • Location: Elmhurst Hospital, Elmhurst IL

  • Additional Floating Location: Edward Hospital, Naperville IL

  • Per Diem/PRN

  • Hours: 2 Weekend shifts required per month (Saturday or Sunday). 8am to 4:30pm or 9:00am to 5:30pm (flexible start time of 8am or 9am).

  • Holidays: One Summer and One Winter Holiday


What you will do:

  • Under close supervision, cleans and disinfects assigned areas according to prescribed procedures.Assists in preparing equipment for patients' use, maintain appropriate inventory of supplies and equipment, and replenishes supplies as needed.Transports patients to and from department as needed and performs general clerical duties such as answering phones, taking and relaying messages, and the like.Assists in wound care and dressing applications and changes in hydrotherapy.

What you will need:

  • Education: Requires a highschool level of communication and/or math skills but no technical training prior to hire and less than three months of previous experience plus approximately one to three months of onthejob experience.

  • Certification: Current CPR Certification (BLS) issued by either American Heart Association

  • Experience: Prior Rehabilitation Aide experience, preferred

  • Unique or Preferred Skills: Work requires the ability to walk or stand for an hour of more at a time, lift or carry objects weighing more than 20 pounds, push or pull laundry or supply carts, gurneys or wheelchairs, and lift and position patients. Work requires the ability to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of patients served.This includes knowledge of the physical and psychological needs of patients served and the ability to respond appropriately to those needs.
