Position Mission
The Director of Donor Communications is a key leader within the FOCUS Mission Foundation, responsible for shaping and executing a cohesive communication and stewardship strategy that deepens donor engagement and advances fundraising growth.
This role ensures supporters feel known, valued, and connected to the mission by leading high-impact communication efforts and building scalable systems that support a growing donor base. The Director also plays a critical role in aligning messaging across Mission Development and ensuring strong representation of fundraising efforts in organizational communications.
Position Responsibilities
  • Donor Communications Leadership
    • Lead and develop Donor Communications team leaders, providing coaching, accountability, and performance oversight
    • Build and implement scalable systems to improve donor engagement and communication effectiveness
    • Establish and execute a 3-5 year vision aligned with organizational goals
    • Ensure excellence in execution across all communications, including quality, timeliness, and accuracy
    • Drive hiring, onboarding, and retention of high-performing team members
  • Stewardship Strategy & Operations
    • Partner with the Stewardship Manager to evaluate and improve systems, processes, and workflows
    • Build infrastructure to support continued growth and increasing donor engagement
    • Ensure stewardship practices are consistent, effective, and aligned with organizational goals
  • Marketing & Cross-Functional Alignment
    • Serve as the strategic bridge between Mission Development and Marketing teams
    • Provide oversight and direction to cross-functional collaboration to ensure strong execution and alignment
  • Internal Communications Alignment
    • Partner with senior leadership and internal communications leaders to strengthen internal communication strategies
    • Promote clarity, consistency, and alignment in messaging across Mission Development and the FOCUS Mission Foundation
  • Cultivate Divine Intimacy:
    • Personal prayer and/or daily Mass, when possible
    • Avail yourself of other spiritual opportunities
    • Be a consistent witness for Jesus Christ, and maintain a courteous, Christ-like attitude in dealing with people outside of FOCUS
    • Live out the moral life in Christ
    • A practicing Catholic or Christian in good standing with the Catholic Church. There is no other background, qualification, or experience that can substitute for this requirement

  • Experience leading and developing teams, with a track record of building strong leaders

  • Experience collaborating cross-functionally and influencing stakeholders

Compensation & Benefits
For this role, we anticipate paying $85,000 - $110,000/year. This range is an estimate. The actual amount may be higher or lower than the provided range and will be adjusted based on various factors including qualifications, experience, abilities, geographic location, and duties.
