Position Overview
The Part-Time Business Tutor provides tutoring services to Business students in the business areas with a heavy focus on Accounting, Business Statistics, and Economics.
This is a temporary grant funded position through June 30 year 2027 contingent upon grantor funding and grant extensions.
What you will be doing
  • Tutors students in Business courses
  • Give orientation in the use of lab and use of software
  • Serves as a role model and motivates students to achieve and assists with their academic needs
  • Grades exams as needed
  • Assists with preparation of reports for faculty
  • Assists Lab Manager
  • Attends all tutor trainings
  • Performs other duties assigned
What you need to succeed
  • High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent and completion of one (1) specified college discipline course
  • All degrees must be from a regionally acccredited institution
  • Record of high achievement in courses taken and tutoring
  • No experience required; training provided as needed
  • Knowledge and understanding of College organization, goals and objectives, and policies and procedures
  • Ability to demonstrate genuine motivation in dealing with people
  • Working knowledge in the field of Business
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally in writing with a diverse population
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including evening and weekend assignments
  • Ability to work well in a multi-ethnic and multi-cultural environment with students, faculty and staff
Additional Requirements
The final candidate is to successfully complete a background screening and reference check process.
