Job description

We're hiring a Founder Content Creator based in NYC to shadow our CEO, shoot the real moments, and turn them into content that builds Cal.com's founder brand. Your mission is to be behind the camera for everything that matters and ship fast, scrappy, high-performing content across TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, and X.

About the Role

This is a vlog-style, doc-style, "in the room where it happens" role. You'll show up, shoot, cut, and ship. You won't wait for polished briefs or production plans. You'll follow the CEO through meetings, offsites, events, dinners, and the in-between moments, and turn them into content people actually watch.

You'll work closely with the founder, brand, and growth teams and have real ownership over the founder content engine.

This is a part-time contractor role with a clear path to full-time as the content engine scales.

What You'll Do

  • Follow our CEO around NYC and shoot founder vlog, doc-style, and BTS content
  • Edit and ship fast, short-form content for TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, and X
  • Cut longer-form YouTube pieces and doc-style content when the moment calls for it
  • Develop a consistent visual style for the founder brand and evolve it over time
  • Capture events, team offsites, customer meetings, dinners, and the in-between moments
  • Build a content library and repurpose footage across formats and platforms
  • Track what performs and double down on what's working
  • Collaborate with brand and growth on creative direction and distribution

What We're Looking For

  • Current NYU student, recent grad, or equivalent. Film, media, journalism, or self-taught all count
  • A reel or portfolio that shows you understand vlog and doc-style storytelling
  • You've made things on the internet and you understand what performs and why
  • Strong shooting instincts. You can operate a camera, frame a shot, and capture audio without a crew
  • Strong editing chops. Premiere, Final Cut, CapCut, DaVinci, whatever gets it done
  • Deep familiarity with TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube from a creator and growth perspective
  • Organized and self-directed. You'll manage your own shoots and deliverables
  • Based in NYC and available on short notice for shoots

Bonus Skills

  • Motion graphics, sound design, or color grading
  • Experience running your own channels or building an audience
  • Familiarity with founder content specifically (Ramp, Brex, Clay, Cluely, etc.)
  • Experience with developer-focused or SaaS audiences

Who You Are

  • You are online. You spend your free time on TikTok and YouTube and have a natural instinct for what performs
  • You are scrappy. You don't need a crew, a light kit, or a producer to make great content
  • You are fast. You can shoot in the morning and ship a cut by end of day
  • You care about results and think in terms of views, engagement, and brand building
  • You are comfortable in a founder's shadow and respectful of the moments that aren't for camera
  • You have taste and a point of view

Tools We Use

  • Your camera (we can help with gear as needed)
  • Premiere, Final Cut, CapCut, or DaVinci
  • CapCut, After Effects, or similar for motion
  • TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, X

  • People-first culture, stable, family-friendly, kind
