TITLE: Library Technical Services Internship
DEPARTMENT: Rebecca Crown Library
DATES AVAILABLE: July 1, 2026 - June 30, 2027
HOURS: Part time position, 16 hours per week, flexible work schedule
HOURLY RATE: $15.25 and tuition remission for two classes over the fall 2026 and spring 2027 semester
Description:
Join the Rebecca Crown Library Technical Services team to gain experience working on cataloging and processing, collection management and development, library systems, and more. This internship is highly mentored by the Technical Services Librarian and the Technical Services Coordinator. At the end of the internship, you will have gained the following experience:
  • Work closely with the Technical Services Librarian and Technical Services Coordinator:
    • Cataloging and physical processing of new materials
    • Collection development - Select new materials for the library and purchase items
    • Collection management - Perform maintenance, including weeding and displays
    • Gain experience using Library Management Systems, including Alma, PrimoVE, and Springshare
    • Special project opportunities
  • Expand your professional network
  • Professional Development opportunities
  • Get practical academic library experience

Qualifications:
  • Currently enrolled as a degree-seeking student in good standing in the School of Information Studies
  • Must be eligible for US Employment
  • Preference will go to those who have completed LIS 703 Organization of Knowledge
