Job description

Cook Memorial Public Library District is seeking an efficient, team-oriented individual for the part-time Acquisitions Associate position at our Cook Park Library location.  The Acquisitions Associate maintains records of library material orders and prepares reports of funds sent.

HOURS

29 hours per week

  •  Monday through Thursday:  9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
  •  Friday:  9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Maintains a fund journal of invoices for all materials purchased and investigates overdue bills. 
  • Prepares monthly credit card statement for payment. Reconciles purchases from direct order vendors with credit card expenditure forms.
  • Processes annual renewal of electronic databases and monthly digital popular materials invoices and renewals and maintains related budget worksheets.
  • Creates carts for new Large Print standing order titles, creates slips, and downloads brief MARC records into bibliographic database.
  • Processes the weekly High Demand Hold report, updates the Collection Development Manager and Selectors when additional copies are required, and places orders for these materials.
  • Prepares the monthly Fund Activity and Fund Summary Reports.
  • Performs the Annual Fiscal Year Rollover and Close processes.  Enters new funds and appropriations each new fiscal year.
  • Processes new periodical and online database subscription invoices and fund breakdown. 
REQUIREMENTS
  • Excellent organizational skills and detail oriented.
  • Bookkeeping experience, LTA degree and/or library experience is beneficial.
  • Confident with Microsoft Excel and other Office products.
SALARY & BENEFITS

Anticipated pay range $23 - $26 per hour, depending on qualifications. Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund. Optional vision, dental, life insurance, and 457(b) deferred compensation plan. Paid sick, vacation, holiday and parental leave. Cost of living increases and merit bonuses.
