Barista & Deli Sandwich Attendant

Location: Downtown Washington, DC 20548
Schedule: First Shift, 6:30 a.m.–1:00 p.m.
Employment: Part-Time and Full-Time Opportunities
Days: Monday through Friday
Weekends and Federal Holidays Off

JM Dining Group is hiring dependable and customer-focused Barista & Deli Sandwich Attendants for our cafeteria in downtown Washington, DC. This position combines coffee preparation, deli sandwich production, cashier responsibilities, and customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare espresso drinks, coffee, tea, and specialty beverages.

  • Prepare fresh deli sandwiches, wraps, salads, and grab-and-go items.

  • Take customer orders and accurately operate the POS system.

  • Maintain attractive and fully stocked coffee, deli, pastry, and grab-and-go displays.

  • Restock ingredients, cups, packaging, beverages, and supplies.

  • Follow recipes, portioning standards, and food-preparation procedures.

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workstation.

  • Follow all food safety, sanitation, and allergen-control requirements.

  • Complete opening, closing, and daily cleaning duties.

  • Provide friendly and professional customer service.

  • Work efficiently with the kitchen and front-of-house team.

Requirements

  • Must have a current ServSafe or equivalent food-handler certification.

  • Previous barista, café, deli, sandwich-making, or food-service experience is preferred.

  • Must be available to work the first shift from 6:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

  • Must be dependable, punctual, and able to arrive on time for early-morning shifts.

  • Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong communication and customer-service skills.

  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 30 pounds.

  • Must follow workplace appearance, sanitation, and safety standards.
