Job description

Charter One works with schools across the country to provide all-inclusive education management services. At Charter One we pride ourselves on our thorough knowledge of charter school operations, academics, finance, human resources, information technology, marketing, and more. We handle the day-to-day work so that client school boards can focus on governance and policy issues to be sure that the vision and mission of the school are being carried out properly.


American Leadership Academy-Applied Technologies is accepting applications for a part-time HVAC Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. Candidates must possess, or be willing to obtain, a valid AZ IVP fingerprint clearance card.


The HVAC Teacher will plan, organize, and implement an appropriate instructional program that provides students the opportunity to develop and fulfill their career and educational potential.


Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:


• Deliver engaging lessons using a variety of teaching methods, including lectures, demonstrations, and hands-on projects.

• Ensure students understand and adhere to safety protocols and regulations related to construction practices.

• Facilitate practical projects that allow students to apply their knowledge in real-world scenarios, such as building models or participating in community construction projects.

• Evaluate student performance through tests, projects, and practical assessments, providing feedback to support their growth.

• Stay current with trends and advancements in construction technologies and foster relationships with local construction professionals and organizations for potential partnerships or guest lectures.

• Mentor students regarding career paths in the construction industry, including further education and job opportunities.

• Maintain a positive and productive classroom environment, addressing any behavioral issues and ensuring all students are engaged.

• Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • AZ IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
  • Teaching Certificate in Industrial and Emerging Technologies K-12
  • At least 2 years of experience in the HVAC industry, which may include roles such as owner, technician, or tradesperson
  • Basic understanding of HVAC, building codes, and safety regulations


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Construction Management, or a related field
  • Relevant certifications such as OSHA safety certification, EPA 608 certification, NCCER (National Center for Construction Education and Research) certification, or other industry-recognized credentials.
