Job description

The Personal Trainer is responsible for performing new member assessments which include a complimentary body scan and ½ hour personal training session, selling personal training packages, building and maintaining a clientele and educating fitness members on the safe and correct use of cardio and weight training equipment. Personal trainers should also be responsive to members and guests by offering assistance, promoting other fitness-related programming including group exercise, wellness programs, and Pilates reformer.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Schedule and conduct new member assessments within 24 hours of assignment.
  • Complete STYKU certification (body scanner) within first week of employment.
  • Upload personal training certification and AED/CPR on Club Connect within the first week of employment. Ensure that both certifications are always up to date.
  • Promptly schedule and complete purchased STYKU scans.
  • Promptly schedule and complete personal training sessions.
  • Support, teach, and encourage members to meet their fitness goals.
  • Schedule all clients in our software system prior to the session and promptly communicate when a new training pack needs to be purchased.
  • Communicate 24-hour cancellation policy with all new personal training clients.
  • Adhere to dress code policy. Training uniform shirt and name tag should be worn for any appointments or fitness related programs.

OTHER FUNCTIONS

  • Develop relationships and encourage member referrals.
  • Help to maintain a clean, safe, and orderly fitness floor, racking weights, picking up towels, etc. as necessary.
  • Assist members as needed on the fitness floor or refer to a full-time staff person as needed.
  • Enforce policies such as cell phone use, etc.
  • Attend fitness department meetings.
  1. Current CPR/AED certification
  2. Minimum one (1) nationally recognized Personal Training certification from one of the following; ACE, ACSM, AFAA, NASM, NSCA, NSPA, ISSA, NCEP.
  3. Operational knowledge of fitness equipment and proper form.
  4. Professionalism and effective communication skills.

Candidates must be available to work evening and weekend shifts
