Job description

Join a group of passionate advocates on our mission to improve the lives of youth!  Rite of Passage Team is hiring for a CNA Instructor at Canyon State Academy in Queen Creek, Arizona

Canyon State Academy is located on a scenic 180-acre campus surrounded by Farm student housing for 300 + youth, a Thrift Store, Cafe, Barbershop and Church open to the community incorporating life skills for our students. Along with a fully equipped weight room, football stadium, an athletic center (gymnasium, padded wrestling room & more).                                                                                                                                                                                                     

 What you will do:

  • Provide classroom instruction, skills lab training, and clinical supervision using an Arizona State Board of Nursing–approved CNA curriculum
  • Teach and reinforce essential nurse assistant knowledge, skills, and professional behaviors
  • Supervise students in clinical settings to ensure safe, ethical, and competent care delivery
  • Prepare students for successful completion of the Arizona Nurse Assistant certification exam
  • Maintain accurate documentation of attendance, competencies, and student performance
  • Ensure a positive, structured, and supportive learning environment
  • Collaborate with program leadership and campus staff as needed
  • Adhere to all Rite of Passage policies, clinical site requirements, and regulatory standards

To be considered you should:

  • To teach in an Arizona Board of Nursing-approved CNA training program, candidates must meet the following minimum requirements:
  • Active Arizona Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing or a valid compact RN license with multistate privilege recognized in Arizona
  • Minimum of two (2) years of nursing experience providing direct patient care
  • At least one (1) year of nursing experience in a long-term care or nursing home setting
  • Eligibility to serve as a Nurse Assistant Instructor under Arizona State Board of Nursing regulations
  • Valid Arizona Department of Public Safety (DPS) IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card, or ability to obtain prior to employment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience teaching or training adult learners
  • Experience working with youth in educational, residential, settings
  • Strong communication, organization, and classroom management skills
