Job Description:

Duties/Responsibilities
  • Manages clinic throughput and flow of patient-room utilization

  • Assists with patient intake, measures vital signs, and reviews medication lists; takes medical and surgical histories

  • Prepares and disinfects exam rooms prior to each patient visit

  • Ensures adequate supplies and appropriate instruments are available in clinics

  • Schedules diagnostic tests or imaging

  • May participate in specimen collection and processing

  • May remove casts and splints

  • May perform venipuncture

  • Accountable for meeting the standards of patient/personal safety and in maintaining a clean and therapeutic environment

  • Assists clinic staff with administrative needs

  • Maintains patient information and documentation in electronic medical record

  • Abides by organizational and HIPAA guidelines, privacy practices, patient confidentiality, and patient rights

  • Supports hospital and departmental performance improvement goals

  • Supports quality care through compliance with departmental and organizational policies and guidelines, and external agency guidelines, standards, or regulations

  • Supports departmental initiatives and change efforts

  • Practices financial and resource stewardship

  • Engages in strong communication, acts as team player in supporting mission and vision of organization, and abides by organization's core values

  • Additional duties as assigned
