This advanced building brings every stage of care under one roof, featuring dedicated spaces for outpatient services, surgery, stepdown, ICU and epilepsy monitoring, as well as additional operating rooms and expanded ambulatory, infusion, imaging, EMG, sleep and rehabilitation services. 

The Neuro Pre-Op/PACU Unit is a newly established unit in the state-of-the-art Neuro Building, designed to support patients through every stage of the surgical experience. This 36-bed unit brings together Pre-Op and Post-Anesthesia Care (PACU) into one cohesive, flexible environment, where nurses are cross-trained to care for patients both before and after surgery, including dedicated nursing education support. Focused exclusively on neurology patients, the team provides a seamless, specialized care journey from initial surgical preparation through immediate recovery within a space built specifically to advance neuro care. 

Caring for a diverse adult neurology population, the unit manages a full spectrum of surgical needs, from same-day procedures to high-acuity post-operative recovery. Nurses are equipped with critical care competencies to support complex cases, while pediatric neurology patients are cared for in collaboration with specialized pediatric nurses. Close partnership with the Operating Room and PACU teams ensures a highly coordinated, team-based approach, supported by strong leadership and shared governance. 

*Hiring Now – caregivers hired for this role will have the opportunity to work and train in the current Adult PACU setting prior to moving into the new building* 

A caregiver in this role will work part time, 24 hours, on afternoons from 9:00am to 9:30pm.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:  

  • Provide direct nursing care. 

  • Implement, monitor, evaluate, update and revise patient care plans.  

  • Monitor, record, document and communicate patients’ conditions.  

  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments. 

  • Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.  

  • Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs. 

  • Educate patients and their families.   

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:   

  • Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (Diploma, ADN or BSN program)  

  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)   

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross  

  • If in a Critical Care area an Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) Certification must be presented upon hire or within first year of employment 

  • One year of current acute care RN experience OR military RN experience 


Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: 

  • Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN) 

Physical Requirements:

  • Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patient, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.

  • Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time.

  • Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.

  • Requires working under stressful conditions and irregular hours.

  • Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids.

  • Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

  • Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.

Personal Protective Equipment:

  • Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required for procedures.

Pay Range

Minimum hourly: $35.50

Maximum hourly: $55.60
