Business: Boys Town National Research Hospital
Job Summary:
In a career as an Imaging Assistant, you join us in providing life-changing care to patients from across the region. In this role, you will support diagnostic imaging services by assisting imaging technologists and clinical staff in providing safe, efficient, and highquality patient care. Prepare patients for imaging procedures, transports patients and equipment, maintains imaging rooms and supplies, and performs clerical and support tasks to ensure timely workflow within the imaging department.
Schedule: Part-Time, 20 hours a week
Locations: West Hospital
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:
  • Assists technologist in capturing, processing, and managing images.
  • Escorts patients to and from radiology and prepares patient for the exam.
  • Stocks rooms with supplies and linen.
  • Works in radiology PACS to send images to other hospitals.
  • Sends images to other facilities via PowerShare.
  • Assists Technologist to position, transfer and properly immobilize patients as required.
  • Assists Technologist with room preparation and table set-up.
  • Assists with cleaning and turning over the radiology rooms before and after use.
  • Acts as liaison between check-in, scheduling and registration and the imaging department.
  • Burns CDs at Technologist request.
  • Assists with clerical tasks for the following days' work.
  • Faxes radiology reports to outside facilities as needed.
  • Monitors incoming faxes.
  • Adheres to MRI safety standards and requirements.
  • Completes all other duties as assigned to meet the needs of the department.
  • Provides patient care and education according to the patient population served.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • BLS certification or obtained within 90 days of hire required.
