Summary
Performs semi-skilled work in a variety of areas. Duties include operating vehicles and equipment in either a specific or a variety of maintenance, construction, or utility tasks.
Job Duties
Mows fairways, tees, roughs and greens.
Does trim work using string cutter.
Aerates tees, greens, fairways and roughs.
Trims and removes trees.
Maintains bunkers.
Assists in applying pesticides and fertilizers.
Assists in maintenance and repair of irrigations.
Assists in maintenance of clubhouse grounds, parking lots and entrance roadways.
This position is considered safety sensitive.
Performs other related duties and special projects as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Education and Experience:
Ability to read and write.
Any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the minimum level of qualifications.
Licenses and Certifications:
Valid Class C Driver's License preferred and satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of the care and proper use of tools and equipment used in the development and maintenance of greens, tees, fairways, roughs, bunkers, hazards, and general grounds of a golf course.
Ability to quickly learn maintenance, care, and construction of greens, tees, fairways, hazards, bunkers, irrigation systems, and the general grounds of a golf course.
Knowledge of and/or the ability to learn about turf disease, insects and rodents, and chemicals and methods used to control these undesirable elements.
Knowledge of and/or the ability to learn basic rules of golf etiquette.
Ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with other employees and the public.
Ability to work flexible hours with some weekend and holiday work required.
Knowledge of and/or the ability to learn occupational hazards and safety precautions.
Must be able to distinguish between different chemical materials, with the ability to read and understand label information.
Ability to lift and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds or more with assistance.
