Job description

POSITION
The purpose of the Men's Pastor position is to serve Crossroads Bible Church (CBC) by overseeing, administering, and coordinating an effective and comprehensive Men's Ministry environment and direction that is relational, biblical, discipleship-oriented, and relevant to current issues men face in cooperation with the rest of Adult Ministry and in accordance with the overall mission of Crossroads Bible Church.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Oversee and grow the men's discipleship ministry of CBC
  • Conceptualize men's discipleship in accordance with a development philosophy that moves men toward spiritual maturity
  • Identify, recruit, train, resource, and evaluate men's ministry leaders
  • Develop, execute, and maintain a philosophy of ministry, ministry plan, strategies, and ministry budget
  • Equip, support, and develop ministry leaders
  • Maintain a presence in the lobby after Sunday services to connect with men
  • Model discipleship (building and mobilizing disciples who build disciples)

JOB SPECIFICATIONS
Education & Experience Requirements:
  • A master's degree from an accredited seminary
  • Experience in leadership and faith development
  • Proven track record of organizational skills in developing and carrying out objectives to completion
  • 10 years of experience working in a church or ministry
  • 5 years of experience ministering to men in a church or para-church organization

  • Demonstrates qualifications of an elder as outlined in 1st Timothy 3 and Titus 1
  • Has a vibrant passion and true call to ministry
  • Demonstrates humility and a teachable spirit
  • Able to cast vision and implement the vision

  • Able to recruit, train, and organize teams, volunteers, and leaders
  • Detail-oriented; can administer and build on complex systems
  • Self-motivated, not needing micromanagement
  • Able to effectively articulate messages and communicate with a variety of people and audience sizes
  • Ability to communicate, problem solve, and process conflict resolution
  • Can work effectively with lay and paid staff
  • Demonstrate a commitment to the mission, strategies, and doctrinal statements of Crossroads Bible Church
  • Demonstrate effective leadership through teams and be effective at delegation

    • All paid staff (including their immediate family if they are married or have kids) should call CBC their home church and, as such, model regular attendance and involvement as a member of Crossroads.
