Ward Church is seeking caring, dependable individuals to serve as Childcare Providers for ministry and community events. This role helps create a safe, welcoming, and engaging environment for children while their parents and guardians participate in worship services, meetings, trainings, and group events.

Position Details

  • Reports to: Director of Nursery/Childcare
  • Employment Status: Part-time, hourly
  • FLSA Classification: Non-exempt
  • Schedule: Varies based on ministry and event needs

Role Summary

Provide attentive childcare for children from newborn through elementary age. Childcare Providers play a vital role in supporting families and advancing Ward Church’s mission by ensuring children are well cared for, safe, and engaged during church and community activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Check children in and out of childcare spaces following established procedures
  • Encourage creative play and constructive, age-appropriate activities
  • Provide physical care for infants and toddlers, including feeding, diaper changes, and assistance with bathroom breaks
  • Discern when it is necessary to contact parents for early pickup or assistance with issue resolution
  • Complete Incident Report forms when required
  • Maintain a clean, safe childcare environment and follow proper sanitization protocols for spaces and individuals
