Salary: The budgeted salary range for the position is $23.63/hour to $24.66/hour, based on a part-time equivalent (FTE) of 0.60, which is 22.5 hours/week. Salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience, while also considering internal equity.

Position Summary
Position manages the receipt and shipment of mail, supplies and inventory at the UIC Health Sciences campus - Rockford by overseeing the mailroom, central stores and receiving dock operations.
Duties & Responsibilities
  • Monitors the receipt and distribution of items ordered by the University and the COM-Rockford clinical sites.
  • Ensures compliance with University receiving and shipping protocols and procedures including accurate maintenance of shipping and receiving records.
  • Packs and ships various items including potentially hazardous materials. Ensures materials are properly packaged, labeled and documented prior to shipment.
  • Provides back-up for courier service to off-site clinical locations.
  • Assigns special pick-up and deliveries for courier service as needed.
  • Distributes packages and supplies to correct departments. Maintains accurate records of items delivered.
  • Maintains and orders inventory of supplies stocked in central stores. Organizes inventory as it is received.
  • Assists in inventory control by ensuring appropriate items are properly tagged.
  • Assists the accounting department in updating inventory control records.
  • Participates in the operation of the special event Spirit Store sales including inventory and product procurement.
  • Assists with the managing and processing of facility-related work orders and maintenance requests for the Physical Plant Department.
  • Provide backup services for front desk personnel.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Minimum Qualifications
    1. High school diploma or equivalent.
    2. One (1) year (12 months) of work experience comparable to that performed at the Storekeeper I level of this series or in other positions of comparable responsibility.

    • Ability to load/unload deliveries
    • Valid driver's license
