Job Summary and Qualifications

As a Respiratory Therapist, you will be pivotal in guiding patients through both routine and critical care situations. Your responsibilities will include performing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures while managing both invasive and noninvasive ventilation in various care environments. You will have access to cutting-edge respiratory technology, mentorship from seasoned RT leaders, and the support of a reliable, collaborative team that will help you succeed and grow professionally. With consistent and predictable scheduling, you will have the stability and resources necessary to provide exceptional care, enhance your skills, and make a significant impact on patient health daily.

Your responsibilities will encompass:

  • Evaluating respiratory conditions by conducting focused assessments, interpreting breath sounds and airway patency, and identifying the need for respiratory interventions.
  • Administering evidence-based therapies by delivering oxygen support, aerosolized medications, airway clearance techniques, and other treatments in emergency, critical care, and acute settings.
  • Overseeing ventilation and airways by assisting with artificial airway placements, initiating and adjusting both invasive and noninvasive ventilation, monitoring patient responses, and reacting promptly to clinical changes or emergencies.
  • Supporting patients and the healthcare team by educating patients and their families, serving as a clinical resource, collaborating with physicians and nurses, and assisting in stabilizing newborns during deliveries when necessary.
  • Ensuring equipment safety and maintenance by setting up, operating, and cleaning respiratory devices; ensuring readiness and preventive maintenance; safely transporting ventilated patients; and adhering to all infection control standards.
Qualifications Required:
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification must be obtained within 90 days of starting employment.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support certification must be obtained within 30 days of starting employment.
  • (NBRC-RRT) Registered Respiratory Therapist certification.
  • (RRT/RCP-State) Respiratory Therapist/Practitioner certification.
  • Associate Degree in a relevant field.

Our facility is affiliated with the Texas Institute for Robotic Surgery, offering advanced robotic services for various surgical specialties.
