Job description

Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Scottsdale (BGCS) is committed to providing a safe, positive, and impactful environment for youth. The Part-Time CDL Driver plays a vital role in supporting our mission by ensuring the safe and reliable transportation of Club members to and from Club sites, schools, and field trips.
This position requires a safety-focused, responsible, and community-minded individual who is dedicated to creating a secure and supportive experience for all youth served.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Essential functions and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
CORE RESPONSIBILITES
Transportation
  • Operate Club vans and buses safely on assigned routes and schedules
  • Transport members from schools to Club locations and on approved field trips
  • Comply with all traffic laws and organizational driving procedures

Safety & Vehicle Maintenance
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections (fluids, tires, safety equipment)
  • Ensure all passengers are properly secured with seat belts or restraints
  • Maintain cleanliness of the vehicle (sweep and inspect regularly)
  • Report delays, accidents, or mechanical issues promptly

Member Supervision
  • Assist members with safe loading and unloading
  • Monitor behavior and enforce Club rules
  • Report disciplinary issues to the Club Director
  • Provide instruction on safety procedures to members

Administrative Responsibilities
  • Maintain accurate attendance and transportation records
  • Communicate effectively with Club staff regarding schedules and incidents.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
  • License: Valid driver's license with CDL Class B and passenger endorsement (including air brake certification)
  • Driving Record: Clean Motor Vehicle Record with no major violations
  • Age Requirement: Minimum 21 years old
  • Certifications: Ability to obtain and maintain CPR and First Aid certifications
  • Background Check: Must pass state and federal background screenings

WORKING CONDITIONS and DRIVING
  • Typical hours: Monday-Friday, 1:45 PM - 4:30 PM
  • Additional hours may be required with prior notice
  • Travel required between Club sites, schools, and field trip locations
  • Must meet Boys & Girls Club of Greater Scottsdale insurance requirements
