Looking for a driving opportunity that offers flexibility, predictable scheduling, and the chance to stay behind the wheel without committing to a traditional full-time route, compensation of .70 cpm. Minimum of three thousand miles per month.

Southerland Transport is seeking professional CDL-A drivers to provide planned vacation coverage for our regional driver team. Unlike many fill-in driving opportunities, these schedules are known well in advance, allowing you to plan your personal life while still enjoying consistent driving opportunities.

What You'll Do

  • Safely operate a CDL-A tractor trailer
  • Cover routes for drivers taking scheduled vacation time
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections
  • Follow DOT and FMCSA regulations
  • Complete delivery paperwork and required documentation
  • Communicate professionally with dispatch and operations teams
  • Maintain a strong safety-first mindset
  • Two to three overnight stays, per week in sleeper
  • Must be able to tailgate deliver mattresses to warehouses and retail stores.
  • Dollies, and step ladders, provided, for ease entering and exiting trailers
  • No residential, or inside delivery
  • Fuel card provided, reimbursed for any out-of-pocket expenses
  • 24 hr on call contact with dispatch
  • Need to be flexible as assigned tractors will deviate
  • Rider policy, for spouse, no children or pets
  • NO smoking allowed in tractor
