Job description

Job Summary:

The Fox District Detroit Command Center (FDDCC) and the LCA Command Center (LCACC) are the nerve centers of safety and security operations for all Ilitch owned organizations. The entire organization is dependent on the accuracy of information provided by the FDDCC and LCACC, the response to emergency situations and critical incidents, and the monitoring of all safety and security systems. Part Time Command Center Staff are responsible for coordinating a risk-free, safe, and secure environment through the monitoring of all safety and security systems used at the FDDCC and/or LCACC, dispatching of personnel, preparing accurate reports, documenting calls for service, monitoring CCTV and social media, and implementing all departmental and league requirements that pertain to command center duties.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the command center personnel and other security personnel in order to ensure the security and safety of all employees, guests, and patrons at all Ilitch properties, venues, events and business units.

  • Proactively monitor the enterprise-wide Avigilon CCTV system for any of any suspicious activity, packages, people, incidents, potential hazards and alert Supervisory Personnel if such an incident occurs.

  • Operate the command center's radio system in both stressful and non-stressful situations.

  • Field incoming phone calls from patrons, citizens, and colleagues from other business units and respond accordingly.

  • Maintain a complete and accurate record of start/stop times of all events, incidents, and calls for service, and dispatch the proper personnel in the event of emergency or unusual events/calls.

  • Dispatch Security and Safety staff in a professional, timely, and efficient manner at all times.

  • Be fully knowledgeable in all emergency plans, league requirements, and departmental procedures to ensure proper incident response.

  • Monitor social media for any possible threats to our teams, family, brands etc. and report any pertinent information immediately.

  • Assist full-time coordinators with gathering pre-event intelligence for all venues.

  • Assist full-time employees in monitoring/reporting severe weather.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Must be 18 years or older

  • Current Crowd Manager

  • Possess a valid driver's license

  • Possess a high school diploma

  • Must be able to pass the background/screening requirements

  • Basic knowledge of how to operate a CCTV system

  • Knowledge of Microsoft office

  • Knowledge of different types of social media

  • Comfortable dispatching over the radio system during stressful and non-stressful situations

  • Proficient at multi-tasking

  • Effective communication skills

  • Basic knowledge of local, state, and federal laws

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice or a related degree field

  • Public safety dispatching experience
