Job Summary

Our cashiers serve as the welcoming face and frontline representative of our Sunset Mart Stores, delivering friendly and efficient service to our customers.  As the first and last point of contact, the cashier plays a key role in creating a positive shopping experience by greeting customers, answering questions, and ensuring smooth checkout operations. This position is located at our Ponderay location and is a part time position


What You’ll Do

  • Greet and assist customers in a positive and professional manner as they enter the store and throughout their visit.
  • Handle cash, credit and debit transactions accurately on the store’s Point of Sale system and balance the cash register at the end of shift.
  • Assist with inventory stocking, organization and rotation.
  • Cleaning, maintenance and general upkeep of the store floor.
  • Operate and maintain all company equipment and report workplace hazards, injuries and incidents to store leadership in a timely fashion.
  • Promote company sponsored incentives, promotions and Reward Programs.
  • Assist customers with inquiries and effectively resolve any issues that may arise.
  • Other duties and special projects as assigned.


Skills & Experience

  • Seeking candidates 19 years of age or older.
  • Previous cash handling experience is preferred.
  • Demonstrates a positive attitude, enthusiasm for acquiring new skills, have effective communication skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to follow Company policies and directions and understand and abide by Local, State and Federal laws pertaining to the sale of alcohol and tobacco products.
  • Be able to lift up to 25 pounds to a height of at least 4 feet with or without reasonable accommodation and stand for prolonged periods of time throughout the day.
  • Maintain an acceptable attendance and punctuality record including being available for shifts throughout the store operating hours.
